Successful mediators do not opine; they facilitate resolution by thoroughly understanding the essence of the separate interests of both sides, and by creating an opportunity for both sides to face the real risks of continuing litigation.

It’s natural that either side of any dispute will want to present their case in the most favourable light possible, but this approach can sometimes make it difficult to reach a positive result for both parties. In my mediation practice, I believe that although both sides of this unique relationship are driven by different goals, the process of coming together can reveal incentives on both sides to resolve the matter.

The biggest challenge of a personal injury mediator is to bring together two sides that have disparate reasons for attending but common interests in the ultimate resolution. I look forward to the trust required of two parties to retain my services on such serious and important issues.
